When Sarah and Jesse reached out to me, they already had their engagement session location in mind. They had met 4.5 years ago through work and wanted photos that encapsulated their relationship and tied in the location where they first met and fell in love – Downtown Los Angeles!
We started off near their work building and made our way around the downtown area, stopping at select sentimental areas where they had dates or memorable experiences.
Check out what they had to say about their experience!
“To say we were nervous would be an understatement, but looking back we shouldn’t have been. Even ahead of our Saturday shoot, Jasmine was available to consult on outfits and assuage our concerns. She provided us with a pre-photo questionnaire, which was an awesome opportunity to tell her more about us, what we were expecting of the photoshoot, and let her know of any specific concerns that she should know about (“Please help remind us of our posture” we told her!).
As soon as the photos began, Jasmine put us at ease. She started the shoot with our favorite pump-up tunes and her confidence helped boost our own. Neither of us have experience with professional photographers, but Jasmine was able to direct us into poses that felt really comfortable and organic.
When we first reached out to Jasmine, we knew we wanted to take our pics in DTLA, where we met and fell in love. In the weeks ahead of our shoot, Jasmine had sent us examples of specific locations (who knew the LADWP building was so gorgeous?) and had scouted out the perfect spots for golden hour. Jasmine was so energetic and kept us excited, helping turn the experience into more of a fun afternoon exploring downtown.
Jasmine was willing to go the extra mile (laying down on the streets of DTLA for the perfect shots!) and honestly the photos speak for themselves. Jasmine created a really safe space for us to feel like we were the only people around. We had an amazing time, we laughed, and we felt like ourselves the entire time. The photos that Jasmine captured reflect that and we will treasure them forever.” – Sarah + Jesse
