So Coronavirus Crashed Your Wedding… Now What?

Okay, in this ongoing saga of the biggest buzzkill to the 2020 wedding world in oh, idk… FOR 👏 EV 👏 ER 👏 we’re talking about the latest challenges on moving forward with your 2020 wedding while navigating the uncharted waters of the big bad virus villian here #Cwhomustnotbenamed (aka Coronavirus)

At first, they were all like it’s okay to proceed with your wedding, just have good hygiene and protect your personal bubble, don’t touch other people, and then they were like MMMMM, maybe cap your gatherings at 250.

No we mean, just 50.

Actually 10 seems like a good number.

No, nvm stay in your home and interact with NO ONE.

And now you’re sitting here like

How. Dare. They. And you’ve probably gone through the 5 stages of grieving over the unscrupulous upheaval of your perfectly planned wedding.

Stage 1 – Denial

Stage 2 – Anger

Stage 3 – Bargaining

Stage 4 – Depression

Stage 5 – Acceptance

So what’s next?

If your wedding is set for April or May of 2020 and you want your family and friends to be a part of it, your best bet is to reschedule for a later date after the Coronavirus crisis has come under control. Talk to your vendors and most of them should be able to help accommodate your change of plans. I recommend approaching your vendors as people who are also going through and experiencing a lot of similar emotions, stressors, and upheavals as you are!

If you’re feeling stressed or in a bad mood, wait until you’re in a more calm relaxed state to connect with your vendors and remember you’re in this together and both want to find solutions, not compound the stressors or problems we’re all currently facing.

So, you

a) postpone your marriage and the corresponding celebrations.

b) elope, although it is important to note that a number of parks and certain states are enforcing lockdowns which may include being fined for not complying with the “stay at home” health policies.

c) get married in your home and invite your family to join via a Google Hangout, Skype or Zoom call. You can still have your dream wedding at a future time, but at the end of the day, your wedding is about the promise between you and your babe. To have and to hold, through sickness like world pandemics and in health, for better or for worse. It’s not all about the flashy flowers, the beautiful backdrop or the perfect hair and makeup, although these all help set the mood for your fairytale happy ending.

Rather, it’s a reminder that sometimes the reality of your happily ever after is being barefoot in the living room with just the two of you (maybe some fur babies or close family) and nothing else is certain, but the one thing that you know in that moment is that you love one another and you can’t wait another minute to be husband and wife!! Sorry I get a little carried away cuz I’m just so passionate about REAL LOVE. And it’s why I do what I do. Because I want to help showcase your love story, whether you’re getting married seaside or in the comfort of your own home, do what feels right for you.
